Katherine Hauser, LSW, received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University with a focus in clinical practice and mental health, health, and disabilities. Her academic work centered on the theory and practice of psychotherapy with children in groups and individual modalities. Since finishing her graduate work, Katherine has completed a number of certifications for work with youths and parents. She is a trained group leader for evidence-based parent, teacher, and children groups through The Incredible Years®.
Fluent in Spanish and English, Katherine has worked with children, adolescents, parents, and teachers in a variety of settings. Her experience with children, adolescents, and teachers includes providing psychotherapy to students, in-class clinical behavior support, classroom management consultation, and social-emotional building groups. Katherine has also worked with parents in community settings by running group workshops and offering individual consultation. Katherine has provided both short term crisis focused and long-term in-home and outpatient therapy with children and combined with parent guidance.
Katherine specializes in psychodynamic psychotherapy, play therapy, and parent guidance. She has helped children and parents overcome issues related to attention, school performance or readiness, anxiety, fear, depression, grief, anger, frustration, tolerance, disobedience, family or peer conflict, divorce, and adoption, among other things.
